Skyfall is Daniel Craig's third outing as James Bond, after Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace

The name is Wright, Steve Wright - but for five years the Norfolk-based photographer has led the life of suave British super spy James Bond.

As thousands flock to the cinema to see Skyfall, the latest film in the Bond franchise, Wright is travelling to back-to-back premieres of the new movie.

The 44-year-old, who lives in Norwich with his wife, Stacy, said: "The whole Bond lookalike idea came to light when Casino Royale was released in 2007.

"Stacy suggested I could get some work out of it, so we sent some photos to an agency for a bit of fun. It was very flattering."

A month later, Wright was on his first mission - being flown on an all expenses paid jet to Monte Carlo for a screening of Casino Royale.

'Cold icy stare'
He said: "There I was along with a lookalike Odd-Job, Jaws, Sean Connery and Shirley Bassey. I remember standing there thinking 'what am I doing here?"

In five years of developing his Bond persona, which he describes as a mix between Craig's steel and Connery's charm, Wright has appeared at events in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Berlin.

"It's a great way to see the world. It's possible to make anything up to £2,000 for appearances over a busy weekend - more if the gig is abroad," he said.

The 44-year-old star of the film was joined by Bond girls Berenice Marloheand Naomie Harris, and Skyfall villainJavier Bardem! Daniel Craig found Britain's Queen Elizabeth to be 'lovely' when he filmed with her

The 'Skyfall' actor - who worked alongside the monarch for a sketch shot for the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics, in which he played James Bond - is pleased how good the stunt looked and admits it was 'surreal' working with her. He told The Sun newspaper: 'I think she did good, I think she did fantastically. I am a big fan of Danny Boyle. He did an amazing job with the Opening Ceremony. I was proud to be a small part of it. 'It was quite surreal to be in the palace with the queen but Danny was being lovely, and so was she.' Daniel previously joked he was 'grumpy' during the filming because he had been asked to do it on his day off from work. He said: 'She was fun, incredibly game. We had a short space of time and I was a bit grumpy as it was my day off and suddenly I am at the Palace with the queen at her private chamber.

In July, in the guise of 007, he famously pretended to parachute with Her Majesty into the Olympic opening ceremony in London. It was a huge surprise that she was willing to play up to the gag, which kicked off director Danny Boyle’s showcase for Britain. Daniel says: “I think she did good, I think she did fantastically. I am a big fan of Danny Boyle. He did an amazing job with the opening ceremony. I was proud to be a small part of it. “It was quite surreal to be in the palace with the Queen but Danny was being lovely, and so was she.”

The Cheshire-born actor kept his royal assignment secret from friends and family — until The Sun got the scoop on his Olympic calling. He smiles at me and points: “Your lot let it out.”
Daniel is very relaxed during the interview, laughing and joking. At one point he leans back, undoes the top button of his shirt and says: “I can loosen my tie, we’re not filming this, are we?”
He has every right to feel relaxed. After a bumpy start to his time as Bond, when some fans questioned his casting as the star of the world’s longest-running film series, he is now rightly considered to be one of the greatest 007s.

He was ordered to wear the life jacket - check out the taping of it on the Casino Royale DVD Extra's - no jacket meant no life insurance meant no boat trip - at least do some research before commenting!

And after stating that he offered the director a job - does he not follow it with the fact that it wasn't his job to do so.

I like The Sun - I have a job where I need to pay attention to details and be all sensible and serious - so I like to read this for a bit of downtime and then people like you have to just get your jealous comment across.

Sorry but this guy is suuuuuper fit and, for a nice change, not the usual "pretty" Hollywood handsome. A "real man" handsome!! Can't wait for the film. The latest Bond movies have lost all their cheese and gained my respect, brilliant!Class act! I've been watching and re-watching the Bond movies on Sky and love them all. These days a cheesy Bond with unrealistic gadgets would be impossible to pull off. All movies are full of tech so we've needed to see some more gritty character-based stories and they've delivered with the last two. Avoiding all trailers and reviews - just itching to get to the cinema to see the movie. Danile Craig is the best Bond to date. He's kept the franchise alive and booming.
